SYNOPSIS

The central theme of WRITES AND REWRITES, a musical in two acts, is how we re-invent our memories to make sense of our lives. This phenomenon permeates the characters' interactions in ways that are by turns shocking, funny, poignant, and always unpredictable. The plot focuses on three women -- grandmother, mother, and 20-something daughter -- who meet on Cape Cod for a reunion. During their week together, they encounter an old friend with a bizarre hobby, a hunky fireman who writes dreadful songs, a delivery boy who dreams of founding a chain of bowling alleys, ghosts, an iguana, and more. Unlikely connections are made, secrets are revealed, and new memories are created. As time passes, who knows how they will be re-written?
